Your personal data – what is it?


Personal data relates to a living individual who can be identified from that data.  Identification can be by the information alone or in conjunction with any other information in the data controller’s possession or likely to come into such possession. The processing of personal data is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (the “GDPR”).
Who are we? 


This Notice is issued by The Revd Gary Crellin, as Chair of the PCCs. Revd Gary Crellin is the data controller on behalf of the PCCs of the parishes of Powick, with Callow End and Madresfield with Guarlford and Newland.
This means the PCCs are responsible for data and decide how your personal data is processed and for what purposes.

How do we process your personal data?


The Revd Gary Crellin, as the data controller, complies with the PCCs obligations under the GDPR legislation by keeping personal data up to date; by storing and destroying it securely; by not collecting or retaining excessive amounts of data; by protecting personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure and by ensuring that appropriate technical and administrative measures are in place to protect personal data.
An assessment is made on a situation by situation basis to determine where data, in particular by email distribution or public display , is of legitimate interest.  


We use your personal data for the following purposes: -

For members of the Clergy

 To provide pastoral care to our parishioners 

 By being contacted or included in a circulation may imply consent to be included on a limited and time limited circulation for the completion of enquiries or to complete tasks to which individuals have a legitimate interest. Individuals can opt out from being part of an open e-circulation by request. This may include, but not limited to, attending to your pastoral needs, facilitating wedding , baptism and funeral applications for help and any subsequent organisation, delivery and follow up arising from such services.

 To make you aware of aother related service or pastoral opportunities that you may or may not accept.  For example, Confirmation Training,  Parent/Toddlers Groups,  Bereavement Groups and Wedding Preparation. 

For PCCs – 

 To enable us to provide a voluntary service for the benefit of the public in a particular geographical area 

 To administer membership/electoral roll records (required up the Church Representation Rules under Canon (church) Law); 

 By being contacted or included in a circulation may imply consent to be included on a limited and time limited circulation for the completion of enquiries or to complete tasks to which individuals have a legitimate interest. Individuals can opt out from being part of an open e-circulation by request.

 To fundraise and promote the interests of the church; 

 To manage our employees (where we have them at any point) and volunteers including Safeguarding legislation compliance; 

 To maintain our own accounts and records.

Other examples of purposes 

 To operate our parish owned or hosted web site and deliver the services that individuals have requested. 

 To inform individuals, where they have given consent for it, of news, events, activities or services running in the two parishes of the benefice or Diocese of Worcester and the Church of England initiatives.

 To share your contact details with the diocesan office, where consent has been obtained,  so they can keep you informed about news, events, activities and services that will be occurring in the diocese and which are relevant to the role you are undertaking.
